The Open Educational Resource Foundation (OERF) is a non-profit organization and a wholly owned subsidiary of Te Pūkenga.
It supports governments and educational institutions in implementing the UNESCO OER Recommendation. Committed to an ‘open first’ approach, the OERF prioritises transparency in its operations and works exclusively with Free and Open Source Software. Currently, the Foundation’s activities are in a holding pattern, awaiting final decisions regarding the disestablishment of its shareholder.

Wayne Mackintosh
Wayne Mackintosh works internationally on open sourcing education with a particular focus on open education for development.
He is the founder of WikiEducator and the OER Foundation headquartered in New Zealand. Wayne is a committed advocate and user of free software for education. He has extensive international experience in educational technology, learning design and the theory and practice of open and distance learning (ODL).
